CoramBAAF has been supporting, advising and campaigning for better outcomes for children in care for over 30 years. They work with everyone involved with adoption and fostering across the UK. Hadley Centre for Adoption and Foster Care Studies

The Hadley Centre aims to promote best practice in the field of adoption and fostering by linking research, practice and training in order to provide children with stable and predictable family experiences. Services provided to practitioners include a telephone and email enquiry service, consultation on evaluation of services, and training and conferences on permanancy for children. New Family Social are the UK charity for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender adoptive & foster families, and families-to-be.

Transnational and Transracial Adoption Group (TTAG)

Our primary purpose is to facilitate networking and contact opportunities for adoptees whilst recognizing, respecting and valuing each individual’s diverse adoption experience and the resulting lifelong impact upon them.

The Adoption Register is an online database that stores the details of children waiting to be adopted where their own agency has not found the right adoptive family to match them. Similarly the database also holds the details of approved adopters who are waiting to be matched with the right child for them.

Independent Review Mechanism (Adoption and Fostering)

The IRM provides adoption applicants in England with the option of applying to an independent body to review the adoption agency’s determination not to approve them as adopters or to withdraw their approval. It is operated by BAAF on behalf of the Department for Education.

Scotland’s Adoption Register

Scotland’s Adoption Register is a project funded by the Scottish Government and operated by BAAF Scotland. The Register has a remit to facilitate family finding across Scotland with the aim of increasing the numbers of children that are placed for adoption.
