Partnership Working with LAs
This section contains resources for managers and CEOs about work that VAAs have done in partnership with LAs. This includes service transformation work, concurrent planning, and child-specific recruitment. Also included in this section is a summary of research into the child’s journey to permanence through adoption across the UK.
Service Transformation in Manchester City Council – After Adoption
This report evaluates the joint project by After Adoption to transform Manchester’s adoption service. This sought to improve customer service, reduce the time that children wait, improve decision making, make efficiencies, strengthen leadership, and increase employee engagement. Download here.

This presentation gives an overview of child-specific recruitment: how it works and what the benefits are. It contains evidence of the impact on timeliness that this approach to recruiting adopters has had on timeliness for children waiting.
