CVAA is the Consortium of Voluntary Adoption Agencies, a UK-wide collective of high-quality organisations that aims to increase excellence in the adoption system. CVAA is a registered charity whose office is based at Unit 409, The China Works, Black Prince Road, Lambeth, London SE1 7SJ.
CVAA is a membership Organisation whose aims are to develop standards of excellence in practice and management throughout the voluntary adoption sector and influence policy and practice in the wider adoption system at local, regional and national levels. CVAA delivers a practice development programme for member agencies and their staff which is also available to non-members. CVAA also provides a management and secretariat service for the Adoption and Special Guardianship Board which includes the quarterly ASGLB data collection.
CVAA works with Voluntary Adoption Agencies, Local Authorities, Regional Adoption Agencies, the Department for Education and other interested stakeholders within the adoption sector, particularly with the collection of data and production of statistics.
CVAA recognises the importance of confidentially and our obligation to keep personal information secure. CVAA is committed to protecting personal information and believe it is important for our customers and web site users to know how we treat their personal information.
Data may be processed in electronic formats. When processed electronically, data may be held on a private cloud-based system and/or on a local server. Regardless of how data are processed, all feasible security measures are in place. Data is retained while it forms part of our services and/or if there is statutory retention period.
Data may be shared with third parties as part of our contracted services, for our administrative purposes and/or if we are required by law to do so. We may also share data within this remit with voluntary and public sector organisations or other interested stakeholders within the adoption sector for research purposes and to inform adoption policy. We cannot accept any liability for any processing conducted by a third party outside our remit.
As part of our compliance, we have conducted a cookie audit on our website. Cookies are internet files used by the system to view websites and their content. We utilise cookies for analytical purposes to monitor and improve our website as may be required.
None of the above affects your rights under the legislation, in particular your right to access the data we hold on you. If you wish to request a copy of your data, please submit it in writing/email to the Charity. Please include enough information to enable us to identify you and search for appropriate data.
If you are dissatisfied with this policy, have queries about our data protection procedures or wish to lodge a complaint, please contact the charity in the first instance. Thereafter you have the right to submit a complaint to the Supervisory Authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
